According to DSP Qamar, over a half dozens attackers, riding bikes and a cars, sprayed bullets on a makeshift rangers picket adjacent to traffic check post located near Al-Asif Square and managed to flee. Resultantly, six persons including two Rangers personnel and two traffic cops sustained bullet wounds. He said two Rangers personnel, Sepoy Hakim and Sepoy Inayat died on the spot while rest of the injured were shifted to nearby hospital where ASI Qamar of traffic police succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
He said the eyewitnesses in their statements revealed that the attackers had concealed their identities by covering their faces but they had long hairs and breads. He said it is premature to say anything about the attackers, adding that investigation was underway.
A 32-year-old Syed Ali Abbas, son of Syed Jaffar Ali, was shot dead at Usmania colony in the limits of Rizvia police station. Police said the deceased, who an employ of Bomb Disposal Squad, was targeted when he was on the way to work. Police suspected that he might have been killed over personal feud. A case, 336/12, was registered against unknown killers on the complaint of his brother. Later, his funeral procession was held at Jaffaria Imam Bargah where heavy contingent of law enforcers were deployed to avert any untoward situation.
Another man, Nadeem, 40 son of Shafiq, was gunned down at Martin Quarters in the jurisdiction of Jamsheed Quarters police station. Police said the victim was an employ of district government and also used to run scrap business. Unidentified armed men sprayed a volley of bullets at F-11 bus stand in Pirabad police precincts. Resultantly, Hamza, 40 son of Qalandar Khan, sustained six fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A body of an unknown person was found from Sirmast bazaar located in the limits of Shershah police station. Police said the deceased was drug-addict. A 35-year-old man, Hajan Khair, son of Gul Muhammad Sher Muhammad, was killed in a drive-by shooting at Al-Saeed View located at Qauidabad in the limits of Shah Latif police station. Police said the deceased, who might have been killed over personal enmity, hailed from Larkana. No case was registered till filing of this report.
